Math and Science Geeks LLC d/b/a Schoolflix and it’s Sites, Apps or Services (referred to in this policy as “Schoolflix”, “us”, “we”, or “our”) has adopted the following Privacy Policy to help you understand the manner in which Schoolflix collects data from its Users (“Users”) or Visitors (“Visitors”) or Subscribers (“Subscribers”). This Policy explains how we collect, use, retain, why we collect, and how we share information from Users in connection with our services (collectively defined as the “Service”).
At Schoolflix we know that you value your privacy and security and is of utmost importance to us and we take this responsibility seriously. We are committed to being transparent with regards to our privacy implementation and the safe keeping of your data. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) defines what types of data we may ask you for and gather from you as you access or use Schoolflix, how that data may be used, and under what conditions, it is used and certain data that might be shared with others.
This Policy applies to any data you share with us when you use our “Services” which is accessible from “Schoolflix.com” or one or more of our other affiliated services or web pages or websites or host (“Site”), our mobile applications (“Apps”), or when you communicate with us in any manner.
Consent
By using our website, you hereby consent to our Privacy Policy and agree to its Terms of Service (“Terms of Service” or “Terms and Conditions”) collectively known as the (“Terms”). This Policy is a part of our Terms of Service and by using the Service you are agreeing to the Terms of Service and with the definitions used to define any terms given to them in the Terms of Service along with agreeing to being bound by our Terms of Service. If you do not agree to the Terms of Service do not use this site. Your continuance of use of the Sites/Services will deem your acceptance of these Terms.
To the extent that you use Schoolflix or it’s related Services on behalf of an employer, any other legal entity, (e.g. School, School district, Learning Services, etc.) or other services including those tied for use with students, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that company, school or district under this policy. Please read our Children’s Information and Student Privacy Policy section to learn more about how we treat information on children which may include children who are under the age of 13.

Information Schoolflix Collects

- Website Visitors: When using our Services as a visitor no personally identifiable information is collected; however we may collect IP addresses and device identifiers. In order to maintain transparency you should know that we may receive information such as how much time you spend on Schoolflix Sites, what sort of device you are using and the actions you may have performed while using our Site, Services or Apps. For more information please see our section on Log Files. Third party advertising companies are used to serve ads when you visit our Site. We do not track or collect personally identifying information through the use of cookie technology; however, our Site uses Google Analytics who uses cookies (see our section on Google Cookies). - Account Holders & User Provided Data: To use our Site, you are required to create an account and register as a Subscriber to use many features on Schoolflix Sites. To become a Subscriber, you are required to provide certain personally identifiable information (e.g. your first and last name or a nickname, birthdate, address, email address (for contact), payment information through online payment systems and verification of age regarding our Terms. You will also be required to choose a distinctive username for user differentiation. You may also be asked to provide school, grade level, password, role and a profile photo. When participating in our Services you may elect to upload videos with identifying information, leave video comments, communicate with other Site users, participate in surveys, survey responses, affiliate promotions, community or group forums, newsletter subscriptions and related or affiliate mailing lists. Please note that any media (i.e., videos, images, messages, or any other content) posted by Users or Subscribers to Schoolflix Sites are considered published material and isn’t considered personally identifiable data in accordance with this Privacy Policy. When you register for an Account, we may ask for your contact information, including items such as name, company/school or district name, address, email address, and telephone number.
The personal information that you are asked to provide, and the reasons why you are asked to provide it, will be made clear to you at the point we ask you to provide your personal information.
If you contact us directly, we may receive additional information about you such as your name, email address, phone number, the contents of the message and/or attachments you may send us, and any other information you may choose to provide. In emails we send you, we may use various technology to determine if you have opened and/or forwarded those emails and/or click on the any links in those e-mails. These methods may allow us to collect and utilize data in a form that is personally identifiable.
Children’s Information and Student’s Privacy Rights
Another part of our priority is adding protection for children while using the internet. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity.
Schoolflix Sites does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13 or children under the acceptable age of consent in any certain jurisdiction. If you are under 13 you are not allowed to access or use Schooflix in any manner and so please do not attempt to do so. If it determined that personally identifiable information of persons under the age of 13 years of age has been collected on Schoolflix Sites without verified parental consent, Schoolflix will take all the necessary steps to delete this information. Children under the applicable age of digital consent are not allowed to utilize our Sites and Services and are required to have an authorized adult (i.e. parent/guardian, etc.) to provide personal information in relation with our Sites and/or Services. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our website without your consent, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately and we will do our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.
Assess of Service by Student Users
Teachers or other school administrators who are authorized by a school or district who are Subscribers or Account Holders of our Service may use our service to directly interact with Student Users (13 years and older) in an education setting as permitted by school or district policies, and where the teacher has verified to us that they are authorized to provide their consent and disclosure of Personal Information as described in the Children’s Online Privacy and Protection Act (COPPA). When students use our Services, we collect the information outlined in the section on Account Holders and User Provided Data.
Messaging and Notifications
Schoolflix’s platform contains private communication tools (Messaging”) and are available to Schoolflix account holders. Messaging is possible between different or with one or more subscribers. Messaging is included for use that involves, but is not restricted to collaboration between students, parents or teachers, networking, requesting teacher or instructor feedback, group forums, or sharing related resources.
Users have the option to delete their account information with the exception media files; however, any information shared via messaging by the user or participants can and may be shared publicly or privately. Please note that any information shared through or on our Sites or Services can be shared and captured through forwarding or screen capture.
We reserve the right to access Messaging or any communication through our Site or Services when necessary to prevent, inquire, take measures regarding any illegal activities which may be against the law such as harassment or fraud. Schoolflix reserves the right, but is not required to, disclose any data if, in its sole judgement, we suspect or has cause to suspect that the information involves a party who may be the injured party. At our sole discretion information may be disclosed to authorities we deem appropriate to deal with such disclosure. We may disclose information about you in response to a subpoena, court order, or any other governmental inquiry. We may also disclose information about you when we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect a User or Users, property or rights of Schoolflix, third parties, or the public at large. For example, if we have a good faith belief that there is an imminent danger of death or serious bodily harm, we may disclose information related to the emergency without delay. Governmental authorities and other appropriate agencies may, include without restriction, law enforcement, child protection agencies, or court officials.
How and Why Schoolflix Uses Your Information
We use the information we collect in various ways and purposes listed below:
- To provide features and functionality, operate, and maintain our websites. For instance, by submitting personally identifiable information to us through Schoolflix Sites and Services, we use your personal data to set up, maintain account information, host your media, backup and restore your information and content, process payments and orders and verify user information.
- To ensure quality, improve, personalize, and expand our websites’ design, functionality, and services. For instance, by updating our platform and versions of our Services.
- To understand and analyze how you use our websites and for development of new products, services, features, and functionality of our Sites.. For instance, by monitoring and analyzing how Visitors and Users engage with our Services so we can create new features and services we think our Users will enjoy and may benefit from that will help them create and manage content more efficiently or make our Services easier to use.
- To Communicate with you, either directly or through one of our affiliates, including for customer service, to provide you with updates and other information relating to the website, and for marketing and promotional purposes (ads and marketing does not apply to paid Users/Subscribers or those who have opted out of commercial promotions). - To place and manage ads when advertising is relevant. For instance, to place ads for our Visitors or Users on our Sites as part of our advertising program where relevant, and understand ad performance.
- To send you emails for non-marketing or customer service purposes. For instance, we may email Users to ask for information, such as, feedback, performance, share suggestions on how to get the most our of our Sites and Services, or keep you informed on Schoolfix or verify your payment. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time. In the event you opt out, please note that we’ll still send you important notices relating to your account and information that affects our Sites and Services.
- Find and prevent fraud. For instance, limiting services or functions, declining transactions or terminating Services, may help to protect the rights, privacy or property of Schoolfix Sites and Services or others. Also, by fighting spam, complying with legal requirements, protecting or detecting against malicious, deceptive or fraudulent or illegal activity which could result in declining or refusal of Services or transactions.
Please be advised that personally identifiable information such as your account name and/or media materials such as video and photos that you disclose on your own accord on our Sites or by way of our Services via Messaging, group/individual chat, discussion boards or on your profile pages and other areas within the Sites and Services may be shared among Schoolflix Sites and Services are viewable by a public audience.
Data Storage & Security
Schoolflix uses third-party services, providers, and hosting partners technologies and related hardware and software to help us run and maintain our Sites and Services, and these services and providers may collect and store your information on Schoolflix’s behalf. Schoolfix incorporates reasonable safeguards to help protect and ensure the the security of your personal information; however, Schoolflix Sites are for general audiences and cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit via our Sites and through our Services and you do so at your own risk. No data, whether transmitted over the internet, wirelessly, or electronically stored can be guaranteed 100% secure. Please note that we do not offer any guarantee that such information may not be accessible, disclosed, altered, or lost by any compromised act; whether, technical, physical or by administrative safeguards. In the event, that we learn of any compromised act, then we may attempt to notify by electronic means so that you can take the necessary safeguards. Schoolflix Sites may post a notice on its Sites if a compromised act occurs. Depending on your jurisdiction you may have a right to receive such act of compromise by written notice.
Server Logs
Schoolflix and our Sites follows a standard procedure of using log files. When you use our Sites our servers records certain browser information and are collected by log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this as a part of hosting services’ analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, the amount of time on any particular pages and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.
Cookies and Web Beacons
Like any other website, Schoolflix uses ‘cookies’. These cookies are in use only for functional purposes, such as keeping state of closed ads or exit popups with newsletters and the pages on the website that the users access or visit. These could include what language your prefer and what location you are in. We do not use cookies to store any personally identifiable information about Users through site cookies.
Web Beacons (a.k.a. Clear GIFs) may be used to track Users online usage trends anonymously through the use of our Sites.
Google DoubleClick DART Cookie
Google is one of a third-party vendor on our site. It also uses cookies, known as DART cookies, to serve ads to our site visitors based upon their visit to Schoolflix.com and other sites on the internet. However, visitors may choose to decline the use of DART cookies by visiting the Google ad and content network Privacy Policy at the following URL – https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads and Google Analytics for Display Advertising for customization of Google Display Network ads.
Third Party Advertisers and Affiliate Links Privacy
Schoolfix allows third-party ad servers or ad networks, to serve advertisements within our networks and Sites.
Third-party ad servers or ad networks uses technologies like cookies, JavaScript, or Web Beacons that are used in their respective advertisements and links that appear on Schoolflix, which are sent directly to Visitors or Users’ browsers. They automatically receive your IP address when this occurs. These technologies are used to measure the effectiveness of their advertising campaigns and/or to personalize the advertising content that you see on websites that you visit.
Note that Schoolflix has no access to or control over these cookies that are used by third-party advertisers.
You may consult this list to find the Privacy Policy for each of the advertising partners of Schoolflix. We reserve the right to change and update this list at anytime.
Third Party Privacy Policies
Schoolflix’s Privacy Policy does not apply to other advertisers or websites. Thus, we are advising you to consult the respective Privacy Policies of these third-party ad servers for more detailed information. It may include their practices and instructions about how to opt-out of certain options.

CCPA Privacy Rights (Do Not Sell My Personal Information)
Under the CCPA, among other rights, California consumers have the right to:
Request that a business that collects a consumer’s personal data disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal data that a business has collected about consumers.
Request that a business delete any personal data about the consumer that a business has collected.
Request that a business that sells a consumer’s personal data, not sell the consumer’s personal data.

Business Mergers or Transfers
In connection with any merger, sale of company assets, or acquisition of all or portion of our business by another company, or in the event that Schoolflix goes out of business or enters bankruptcy, user information would likely be one of the assets that is transferred or acquired by a third party. If any of these events were to happen, we’ll notify you of that change. In addition, any purchasing or acquiring company would have to adhere by the terms of this Privacy Policy including notifying you before making substantive changes and giving you the opportunity to opt out.

Schoolflix Sites and Services are governed under United States law and hosted in the United States are meant for Users in the United States. Please be advised that laws and regulations may differ in regions such as the European Union, Asia or any other region outside of the United States, where you may be accessing the Sites and Services. These laws and regulations may differ in the governance of personal information use, collection and disclosure on transference of information. If you are accessing Schoolflix Sites and Services from any of these regions, please be advised that through your continued use of our Sites and Services you are transferring and consent to the transference of your personal information to the United States.

Privacy Policy Changes
We urge Visitors and Users to check from time to time Schoolflix’s Privacy Policy. We may update the Privacy Policy periodically to comply with any necessary Site or Service changes we may make.
